Cabbage Roll Casserole

A delicious and comforting Cabbage Roll Casserole featuring turkey bacon for a healthy twist.

Ingredients

  • 1 large head of cabbage
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 6 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup cooked rice
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the turkey bacon until crispy. Remove and crumble.
  3. Add ground turkey to the skillet and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in cooked rice, tomato sauce, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and crumbled bacon. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Meanwhile, chop the cabbage and blanch it in boiling water for 2-3 minutes until softened.
  6. Layer half the cabbage in a greased baking dish, add the turkey mixture, and top with remaining cabbage.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add some shredded cheese on top before baking.
  • Make sure to season the turkey mixture well.
