Chicken Tikka Masala

A creamy and spiced chicken dish that is bursting with flavor, perfect for a weeknight dinner.

  • 1 pound chicken breast, diced
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon turmeric
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon coriander
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • salt to taste
  • fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken in yogurt and spices for at least 1 hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté onions until translucent.
  3. Add garlic, ginger, and chicken; cook until chicken is browned.
  4. Stir in tomato puree and simmer for 15 minutes.
  5. Mix in cream, and cook for another 5 minutes.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with cilantro.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add more chili powder.
  • Serve with rice or naan.
