Classic Patty Melt

A delicious twist on the classic patty melt featuring turkey and bacon for an indulgent flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 8 slices rye bread
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon in a skillet until crispy. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, sauté onions until caramelized.
  3. In a bowl, mix ground turkey with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Form into patties.
  4. Cook turkey patties in the skillet until fully cooked.
  5. On slices of rye bread, layer cheese, a turkey patty, bacon, and caramelized onions. Top with another slice of bread.
  6. Butter the outside of the sandwich and grill in the skillet until golden brown on both sides.
