- 2 cups warm water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let foam for about 5 minutes.
- Add flour, salt, and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Punch down the dough and roll it into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut the dough into strips, and place them on a baking sheet.
- Melt remaining butter and mix with garlic powder and Italian seasoning. Brush over the breadsticks.
- Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
