French Onion Chicken Orzo Casserole

A delicious and hearty casserole combining French onion flavors, chicken, and orzo pasta topped with crispy turkey bacon.

  • 2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken
  • 1 cup turkey bacon, cooked and chopped
  • 2 cups French onion soup
  • 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
  • 1 cup chopped onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and cook until softened.
  3. Stir in minced garlic and thyme, cooking for an additional minute.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked orzo, chicken, turkey bacon, French onion soup, and the onion mixture. Mix well.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish and top with Gruyère cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  7. Let it cool slightly before serving.
