  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup hazelnut spread
  • 1 cup chopped hazelnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add buttermilk, oil, eggs, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
  4. Gradually stir in hot water until the batter is smooth.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, spread a layer of hazelnut spread between the cake layers and on top.
  9. Decorate with chopped hazelnuts.
