  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat the butter and brown sugar until creamy. Add molasses, egg, and vanilla; mix until combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until the edges are firm.
  7. Let cool before drizzling with maple glaze.
  8. To make the glaze, mix powdered sugar and maple syrup until smooth and drizzle over cookies.
