Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Ingredients

  • 2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 cup whipped topping
  • 2 cups strawberry slices
  • 2 cups strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water

Instructions

  1. Mix the crushed pretzels with melted butter and granulated sugar. Press into the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan and bake at 400°F for 7 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the whipped topping and spread over the cooled pretzel crust.
  3. In another bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Stir in the sliced strawberries and let it cool slightly.
  4. Pour the strawberry mixture over the cream cheese layer and refrigerate until set, about 3-4 hours.

Notes

  • For a thicker bottom layer, increase the amount of pretzels and butter.
  • Feel free to use mixed berries instead of just strawberries for variety.
