  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 3 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup cooked turkey bacon, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Cook macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  3. In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and cook for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk, continuing to stir until the mixture thickens.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese, Parmesan, salt, pepper, and garlic powder until smooth.
  6. Add the cooked macaroni and turkey bacon, mixing well.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and top with additional cheese if desired.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden on top.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • Feel free to mix different types of cheese for more flavor.
