Healthy Ground Turkey Teriyaki Rice Bowl

A quick and healthy recipe for a delicious ground turkey teriyaki rice bowl that's perfect for lunch or dinner.

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 cup brown rice
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 cup bell peppers, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, cook the brown rice according to package instructions.
  2. While the rice is cooking, heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the ground turkey, cook until no longer pink, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Stir in the garlic, ginger, soy sauce, honey, and rice vinegar; cook for another 2 minutes.
  5. Add the broccoli and bell peppers, stir-fry until tender, about 3-4 minutes.
  6. Once the rice is done, serve the turkey mixture over the rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free option, use tamari instead of soy sauce.
