Maple Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Carrots

A delicious and healthy side dish featuring the sweet flavors of maple syrup combined with the savory taste of turkey bacon.

  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts
  • 1 pound carrots
  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and slice them in half.
  3. Peel and cut the carrots into similar-sized pieces.
  4. In a large bowl, combine Brussels sprouts, carrots, turkey bacon (cut into pieces), maple syrup, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss to coat.
  5. Spread the mixture evenly on a baking sheet.
  6. Roast in the oven for 25–30 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the vegetables are tender and the bacon is crispy.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • For added flavor, you can sprinkle some crushed red pepper flakes.
